Downsizing - A new duty for tenants to receive Priority Move-On
Excerpt: Welsh Tenants Federation members have been raising concern for a number of years, that social housing landlords are not doing enough to promote and facilitate downsizing to smaller properties. Without support, many vulnerable tenants are trapped in housing that is no longer suitable for their needs. In a small scale sample survey of 120 tenants, 23% stated they would downsize if they had better assistance to do so. In fact, only 4% of all social housing tenancies actually do, and this figure has been consistent for the past 7 years. ...
